At our last training day all staff attended defibrillator training. This was a follow up to the first aid training we did in February. In response to this the committee agreed to purchase our own defibrillator as we were informed that any adult or child suffering from cardiac arrest only has a 9% survival rate with resuscitation alone but this improves dramatically to 40% if a defibrillator is used. You are safe in our hands!
It was a very intense day but also very rewarding as the trainer was very impressed with our skills. All staff also had health and hygiene training to ensure that all snacks are prepared safely for the children.
